Cyclone Seroja Appeal
National
Catholics are being asked to support an appeal that has been launched to help with the recovery of communities in the Diocese of Geraldton in the wake of Cyclone Seroja.
Archbishop O’Regan said he had received information from Bishop Michael Morrisey regarding the cyclone’s impact on the Western Australian diocese and communities of the Midwest/Gascoyne region.
Bishop Morrisey said Cyclone Seroja had inflicted major damage on a number of churches, presbyteries, school buildings and other premises.
Enormous damage was also reported at many farms, businesses and homes within those communities and across the farming areas.
