Novena to St Joseph

The Penola parish is conducting a novena to St Joseph, the patron of the church in Penola and the Universal Church, in the lead up to his feast day on March 19.
Father Michael Romeo, parish priest, said the new initiative was aimed at encouraging devotion to St Joseph.
“Since being appointed to Penola, I have noticed that many people come here to seek St Mary’s intercession, but very often people also come with a devotion to St Joseph,” he said.
“He is a very powerful intercessor; one of our parishioners ensures that there is a supply of St Joseph prayer cards in the church which seem to disappear very quickly.
“I’ve also had correspondence with people asking for a prayer card or for prayer intentions specifically through St Joseph’s intercession. I know of one person who was struggling to find a job and recently obtained work through praying a novena to St Joseph in Penola.”
