The ABC has produced a podcast about St Mary MacKillop as part of a series on extraordinary Australian women called Fierce Girls.
Executive producer Monique Bowley, who was previously with the ABC in Adelaide, said Mary MacKillop’s life was an “incredible story”.
“Australia’s first saint had a dream to educate poor kids and she fiercely stood up against powerful priests for what she thought was right,” she said.
Narrated by star of Little Lunch and Home and Away actor Olivia Deeble, the podcast goes for just under 13 minutes.
Posters that can be coloured in are also available as part of the series which is aimed at children aged seven to 11.
