Sharing the Easter spirit
News
Trolleys, washing baskets and boxes filled with Easter eggs were delivered to Catherine House and Centacare Catholic Family Services by St Aloysius College Year 10 students on Holy Thursday.
Every year the college asks students to donate chocolates to brighten Easter for the homeless, victims of domestic violence and struggling families.
Deirdre Flynn from Catherine House said she was overwhelmed with the generosity of the students and assured them that any extras would be shared with clients of Common Ground and the Hutt St Centre.
Bernie Victory from Centacare Catholic Family services also expressed his gratitude to the students and said the hundreds of Easter eggs would be distributed through their homelessness and domestic violence services.
“The school egg drive will ensure the young people and mothers we support have eggs to give to their children on Sunday,” he said.
