Jubilarians recognised
Events
Celebrating the 40th anniversary since his priestly ordination in September, Archbishop Patrick O’Regan will be one of several priests honoured at the Jubilarians Mass in September.
To be held in St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral, the Jubilarians Mass will recognise priests in the Archdiocese with anniversaries of 25, 30, 40 and 50 years.
Archbishop O’Regan was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Bathurst in New South Wales on September 2 1983. He served in rural parishes and studied in France twice before being appointed Diocesan Administrator, then Chancellor, Dean of Cathedral and Vicar General.
Pope Francis appointed him the ninth Bishop of Sale in 2014 and Archbishop of Adelaide in 2020.
Also celebrating significant milestones in the Archdiocese this year are Fr John Spiteri OFM Cap (25 years); Fr Christopher Matala, Very Rev Taras Gorpynyak, Fr Laszlo Horvath OFM (30 years); Fr John Otto SJ (40 years); and Fr Tom Gleeson, Fr Francis Trinh Van Phat (50 years).
Fr Peter Dunn, who sadly died last month, was also celebrating his 50th anniversary this year.
The Jubilarians Mass will be held at 5.45pm on Wednesday September 6. All welcome.
