Anthony Beltrame, 31, and Olek Stirrat, 26, will be ordained by Archbishop Patrick O’Regan in St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral on Saturday March 12.

In joyful news for the two men and their families and friends, there will be no restriction on numbers due to the lifting of COVID density limits from 12.01 Saturday. The Mass will also be livestreamed.

After their ordination, the new priests will celebrate their first Mass in the parishes where they grew up; Tranmere (Deacon Anthony) and Hectorville (Deacon Olek) on Sunday March 13.

Since their diaconate ordination in December 2020, Deacon Anthony, a former student of Rostrevor College, has been serving the Cathedral parish and Polish-born Deacon Olek has been ministering in the parishes of Mount Gambier and Millicent. They will return to those parishes as assistant priests after their ordination.

Archbishop O’Regan asked the faithful to “keep Anthony and Olek in your prayers”.

The ordination Mass in the Cathedral will begin at 10am Saturday March 12. The livestreaming can be viewed at www.adelaide.catholic.org.au
