Surprising the teacher on her wedding day

Peter Mercurio (30) and Tayla Carosi (27) were married by Fr Matthew Newman at St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral on Saturday March 14.
They are both from Adelaide’s eastern suburbs and have bene together for the past six years.
Peter works in finance for a boutique investment bank in Sydney while Tayla is a teacher at St Joseph’s in Payneham. They will be moving to Sydney later this year to continue married life in NSW.
“Something special about St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral and why we chose it was because my Nonno Pietro repaired the bell tower and help renovate part of the church,” said Tayla.
“Also, something so special and unplanned, our family Priest – Fr Matthew Newman – invited all the students (who I have taught) who came to see me at the church, up onto the alter before our vows to witness our ceremony up close.”
