Key initiatives to follow assembly

An interim Diocesan Pastoral Council, a youth assembly in November and another major Diocesan gathering late next year were announced at the closing session of the 2021 Diocesan Assembly.

Churches might be closed but parish teams have been busier than ever trying to stay connected with their communities through a range of initiatives from live streaming Masses to phoning parishioners and dropping bulletins in their letter boxes.

The ‘shape of the journey’ over the next three years until the Australian Church’s 2020 Plenary Council was one of the themes covered when the first joint meeting of the three groups responsible for organising the plenary was held in Sydney last month.
