Michael still giving back

During Refugee Week, 82-year-old Michael Nguyen reflected on his dramatic escape from Vietnam in 1977 and subsequently building a life in South Australia and his involvement in the local community.

Growing up in a refugee camp in Kenya, Awer Mabil and his mates honed their soccer skills by kicking rolled-up socks around the vast dirt expanses, or if they were lucky they would manufacture a ‘sockball’ made of plastic bags.
