Project Compassion transforming lives

Shirley, 36, is a Manide indigenous woman living in the remote Camarines Norte province in the Philippines. She is the mother of four and the family’s sole breadwinner, as her husband is sick. But Shirley was struggling to support the whole family and keep her children in school.


Fellowship and faith strengthened

Students and staff participating in St Mark’s College immersion trip to the Philippines experienced “the greatest of hospitality” and were reminded that “happiness comes from within, not from possessions”.


Making poverty personal

‘Appreciate what you have and see what you can do to make the world a better place’ was the key message to Year 6 Catholic school students who attended ‘understanding poverty workshops’ earlier this month.
