Plea for national unity

An impassioned plea for all Australians to unite in addressing critical issues faced by First Nations people has been made by the chair of the Bishops Commission for Relations with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, Bishop Charles Gauci.

Australia’s Catholic bishops have welcomed the Voice referendum on October 14 as a “blessed opportunity” for the Church and all Australians to embark on a new engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
