Theology of childhood important in safeguarding standards

One of Australia’s leading experts on the theology of childhood has told a meeting in Adelaide that to develop and advance appropriate cultures for the care of children the Church must better understand children as competent and accomplished beings.

National body looks to Adelaide for safeguarding standards

The Adelaide Archdiocese has participated in a pilot audit of child protection policies and practices by the new national safeguarding body, Catholic Professional Standards Ltd (CPSL).

Draft safeguarding standards released

The Catholic Church’s new safeguarding body has released draft National Catholic Safeguarding Standards which will be used to gauge the capacity of the Catholic Church to provide safe places for children and vulnerable adults.
