Same but different at St Albert's Loxton
Schools
School is back and for many youngsters it’s a new experience as they settle into Reception or a new school or campus.
But it was also a case of starting afresh for Loxton teacher Sharona Edwards as she took on a different role at St Albert’s Catholic School after 22 years in the classroom.
Sharona has been appointed principal of the Riverland school and she couldn’t be happier.
“I’m excited to step into this role because I care deeply about every child’s learning and well-being,” she said.
“I love supporting our teachers and finding ways to make our school an even better place for students to thrive.”

“What I love most about our community at St Albert’s is how well we know our families, support each other, and work together to help every child succeed.
“Our past students often tell us it’s the strong sense of family that makes St Albert’s so special.”
Sharona said being a small school meant staff knew every child, celebrated their strengths and supported them closely.
“With our Catholic values at the heart of all we do, we nurture not just academic growth, but character, kindness and resilience.”
Sharona is one of eight new principals in Catholic schools with two experienced principals moving to new schools and four in acting roles.
