School principals appointed

Daniel Lynch has been appointed principal of Sacred Heart College (SHC), commencing in 2023, following the move of Steve Byrne to Cardijn College.
Mr Lynch is a familiar face to the SHC community, having been head of Marcellin Campus in 2015 and 2016 and deputy principal in 2017 and 2019. Since 2019 he has been principal of Christian Brothers College.
Announcing the appointment, Marist Schools Australia national director Frank Malloy said
Mr Lynch was a well-known and highly regarded leader in Catholic education and a valued member of the Australian Marist community.
“He has consistently demonstrated significant leadership skill and capacity with energy and enthusiasm,” Dr Malloy said.
A parishioner at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, Henley Beach, Mr Lynch is married to Jess and they have three children, Eliza, Ruby and Ted.
Meanwhile, Sonia Nelson has been announced as the new principal of Mary MacKillop College. Mrs Nelson is currently the deputy principal of St Francis de Sales College in Mt Barker, and will commence her new role in January.
