Over five weeks the pair have created an impressive artwork titled ‘My Family Tree’, telling the story of Kayron’s extended family, including his great grandparents, grandparents, aunties, uncles, nephews, and nieces. This is the second project they have worked on, with their previous piece telling the story of his past, present and future.

Kayron, who is in Year 6, said he really looked forward to the painting sessions each week, with Phillip fast becoming a positive role model in his life.

“It’s been good spending time with Phillip,” he said, adding that he had learnt some painting techniques, in particular how to use an airbrush.

Kayron said he was especially looking forward to their next project, where they will paint a didgeridoo and he will be taught how to play the instrument.
