After 42 years in Catholic education, Star of the Sea School principal Joe De Tullio has retired.
Described as an inspiring, approachable, energetic leader who is happiest when surrounded by children, Joe has overseen the recent major building project at the school and pursued his passion for sustainability, particularly through the renovated Marine Discovery Centre.
He began his teaching career at Mt Carmel College before moving to Mercedes College where he was a teacher, head of junior school and acting principal.
After a stint at St David’s School, he returned to Mercedes and then took on a leadership position at St Pius X. Joe was a principal consultant at Catholic Education SA before taking on the role of principal at St Francis Xavier and then Star of the Sea.
The new principal of Star of the Sea is Damian Weeks.
