Greening grants available

Grants of up to $200,000 are available for environmental projects as part of Green Adelaide’s Grassroots program.<br />

The grants allow individuals, volunteer and community groups, sporting and recreational clubs, religious organisations, schools and more to apply for funding to transform their local environments.
A total of $1 million is available in the latest round of grants which range from $2000 to $200,000.
Last year the Church of Nativity in Aberfoyle Park transformed a weedy, sandy patch into a native garden.
The space now includes a range of local native plants to support wildlife, as well as paths and signage to help the community learn about what was planted and to acknowledge the Kaurna Miyurna (People) and their traditional use of the plants.
The project also empowered a local educational opportunity. School of the Nativity and two other primary schools undertook the task of preparing the garden and installing irrigation to make it easier to maintain the long-term.
Round 6 of Grassroots Grants closes on May 7 2025. More information at greenadelaide.sa.gov.au/grants/grassroots-grants
