Stage one of the multi-million project – a $9.875M building development – will bring a much-needed boost to the local economy.

Catholic Education SA has announced that Mossop Constructions will be the builder for the new school that will open in 2021. The school will be a campus of Xavier College and will initially cater for students from Reception to Year 6. It will grow to become a R-12 College catering for more than 1000 students.

Land Australia, part of the Hickinbotham group, and the Sharpe Family, who have a connection with Two Wells going back over many generations, donated the land on which the school will be built in the Liberty Estate at Two Wells.

“We are pleased to be working in partnership with Land Australia, Mossop Constructions and Edge Architects on this exciting development that will meet the needs of the growing population in Two Wells and the surrounding area,” said Professor Denis Ralph, chair of the South Australian Commission for Catholic Schools.

“The school will be the 111th Catholic school campus in South Australia,” said Dr Neil McGoran, director of Catholic Education South Australia.

“This new school is part of our commitment to expanding Catholic Education pathways for children and young people. Xavier College has a very strong reputation in the local community and this new school will enable us to work in partnership with families from Two Wells and the surrounding areas to provide their children with an excellent Catholic education.”

The excitement is shared by Xavier College acting principal Mark Flaherty who said the college was looking forward to “expanding our offering of authentic, affordable Catholic education in the area” and “meeting our new families as we grow within our new local community”.

Land Australia’s managing director, Michael Hickinbotham said it was fantastic the school was commencing construction.

“The new campus will further underpin a growing and successful Two Wells community and the new Eden and Liberty residential developments while providing high calibre education for newly arriving families and wider region,” he said.

Mossop Construction Plus Interiors looks forward to starting the project.

“We are thrilled to be involved in the construction of the new Xavier College Two Wells Campus after a successful project delivery for Catholic Education SA of the McAuley Community School at Hove,” said Grant Mossop, director of Construction.
