Josephite jubilees

The jubilees of eight Josephite Sisters were celebrated at St Ignatius Church, Norwood on Saturday March 23.
Sisters Angela Mahar, Lianella Girardi, Marie Egan, Kerry Keenan, Caroline Duggan, Kateri Duke and Josie Huppatz were all honoured as Golden Jubilarians (50 years), while Sr Teresa Taggert was recognised as a Diamond Jubilarian (60 years).
Many family members and friends attended the service, as well as about 30 priests who acknowledged their appreciation of the Sisters who had worked side by side with them in both city and country districts.
lso at the celebration, Claire Larkin from Penola was awarded a Papal Honour recognising her outstanding work as coordinator at the Mary MacKillop Penola Centre for 24 years. Presented by Bishop Greg O’Kelly SJ, the award was granted under the title ‘Croce Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice’ or ‘in recognition of meritorious service to the Church’.
