Cabra announces new principal

Cabra Dominican College announced today that Helen Riekie will be the new principal from the beginning of the 2018 school year.
Currently the deputy principal of Student Wellbeing and Leadership, Dr Riekie came to Cabra in 2016, after a an extensive career as a teacher and school leader at Cardijn College, Noarlunga.
Board Chair of the college, Bill Griffiths, said Dr Riekie enjoyed the unanimous support of the selection panel, the College Board and Dominican Education Australia, the college’s trustees.
“Our own experience of Helen, the person, as well as the testimony of her referees, confirms that she will provide the leadership the college needs at this point to capitalise on the growth and the achievements we have enjoyed under Brian Schumacher’s productive time as principal,” Dr Griffiths said.
Mr Schumacher takes up the role of principal at Rostrevor College in January.
