Mass for migrants

Migrant and Refugee Sunday was celebrated in St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral on Sunday September 29.
Fr Dean Marin welcomed the many community leaders and members of the church that gathered for the 110th World Day of Migrant and Refugees. He introduced each of the priests individually, their country of origin and the migrant community they serve.
Young people participated in the prayers of the faithful and Gospel procession while the bread and wine was brought to the altar by members of the Myanmar community.
The Mass was followed by a gathering on the lawns outside the Cathedral with cultural music and international fare.
