SPECIAL DAY: Nine children from St Anthony’s School at Millicent received their first Holy Communion at a joyful Mass led by Fr Peter Zwaans at St Alphonsus Church. Congratulations to James Matthews, Maggie Matthews, Dalila Scanlon, Emily Freebairn, Patrick Freebairn, Myla Bowman, Joseph Weir, Harry Weir and Thomas Lowe. The boys wore white shirts and the girls white dresses, with floral headpieces organised by the parents. Year 6 students painted and created a banner that was pinned on the altar of the church. Several students have asked to be trained as altar servers in the coming weeks.


Archbishop Patrick O’Regan joined more than 700 parishioners in Salisbury to celebrate the golden jubilee Mass of St Augustine’s Church on Saturday August 27. Parish priest Fr Shibu Jacob was delighted to have former parish priests Fr Roderick O’Brien, Fr Philip Marshall and Mgr Rob Egar present at the Jubilee Mass as concelebrants. Dignitaries and invited guests later enjoyed a generous shared lunch in the Parish Family Centre.


Mim Spurling was baptised by Father Michael Musyoka Kyumu in St Joseph’s Church, Brighton, on September 11. She is pictured with mum Gertie, dad Bill and her sister Penny. Godparents are Leo Taylor and Winnie Taylor.


Zachary Kai Tanilon was baptised by Father Anthony Beltrame in St Mary’s Catholic Church, North Adelaide on July 3. He is pictured with parents Marc Tanilon and Kimberly Goh. Godparents are Justin Kuang and Maria Viojan.
