Salisbury parishioners turned out in droves to farewell their parish priest of 12 years Fr Roderick O’Brien who will take up the position of parish priest of Lefevre Catholic community in July. More than 750 people gathered for the farewell Mass in St Augustine’s Church and about 400 people shared supper in the hall afterwards. Writing in the parish newsletter, Fr Shibu Jacob msfs said Fr Roderick was a man of prayer who “knew what life is about, its joys and struggles…it is a great combination for preaching – knowing God and knowing people.” Fr O’Brien is pictured with Hang Nguyen who made his farewell cake.
