Bright colours and joyous music filled St Francis Xavier's Cathedral on Sunday as the African Catholic Community joined together to celebrate the Feast of St Daniel Comboni. Pictures: Ben Macmahon.

Comboni messages lives on

It was a joyful occasion for the African community when 15 children were baptised and eight candidates were confirmed at the feast of Daniel Comboni Mass in St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral.

Yuggu Zechariah Sebit and Muya Vicky James took time during the Mass to reflect on the troubles in their homeland South Sudan. Their son Jeremiah Cirilo Yuggu was one of four children baptised on the day.

Prayers for East Africa

The millions of people starving in East Africa and Yemen were in the prayers and close to the hearts of those who attended the feast of St Daniel Comboni at St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral on October 15.
