The Season of Creation is an annual celebration that spans from September 1 (the Day of Prayer for Creation) to October 4 (the Feast of St Francis of Assisi). It is a time when Christians all over the world come together to reflect on the biblical call to care for God's creation and to take action to address environmental issues. Although the ‘celebration’ spans for a month, our call to care for creation is ongoing.
In 2015, Pope Francis wrote Laudato Si’, the first papal letter focused on the environment addressed to every person on the planet. In this encyclical, Pope Francis wrote to each of us to share his concerns about the state of our Earth. His message is even more urgent today.
