Among old scholars attending the annual Mercy High Tea at St Aloysius College last month were graduates from the Class of 1954, Jeanette Roach and Peggy Spurling. The former classmates have remained friends and attend Mass every Sunday at St Joseph’s Church, Brighton. The high tea was an opportunity for old scholars to view three Indigenous artworks painted on newly-installed seating spaces called the Wardlis. The artwork was produced by students in consultation with Narungga and Ramindjeri artist Cedric Varcoe and architect Peter Moeck.
