Mary MacKillop Precinct manager Amanda Taverna said Ms Adamson was eager to learn more about the story of Mary MacKillop and the strong women who supported her valuable work in education and social welfare in colonial South Australia.

The Governor used the museum’s interactive technology to hear stories of the pioneering Sisters of St Joseph brought to life and she noted Mary’s many friends from various walks of life. Summing up her visit, Ms Adamson commented that the museum was a wonderful tribute to Mary MacKillop’s life and an important part of the State’s heritage.
