A number of local dignitaries including the Governor Hieu Van Le AC, Premier Steven Marshall, Opposition Leader Peter Malinauskas and the Honorary Consul for Sri Lanka Dr Charitha Perera, will attend the service.

Praying of the Rosary and a Litany with candle lighting will commence at 5.30pm followed by Mass at 6pm.

“The service will be a time of shared prayer for the people of Sri Lanka, especially those affected by the bombings on Easter Sunday, and for our own Sri Lankan Catholic community,” said Father Philip Marshall, Administrator Delegate in the Adelaide Archdiocese, who will celebrate the Mass.

“In this time of tragedy, it’s important that we come together to grieve for the victims and their families, and to show our solidarity with the people of Sri Lanka.”

A bilingual Mass will also be celebrated by the Sri Lankan community on Sunday May 5 at 3pm in Annunciation Church, Hectorville.
